FREE No-Sew Chonky Chicken Crochet Pattern

FREE No-Sew Chonky Chicken Crochet Pattern

Looking for a super quick crochet pattern that is also a great seller at markets? Well, you found one! Pop-out a ton of these Chonky Chickens in no time to add a bunch of inventory to your next market.

This pattern is beginner friendly, and completely no-sew so you don't have to worry about all those pesky attachments.

Please keep in mind that it is also written in US terms.

Notes before starting:

  • This pattern belongs to Reigning Charmz. Please do not sell or replicate this pattern in any way. You may sell the completed, physical product, but please be sure to credit Reigning Charmz.
  • If you’d like to replicate the pattern exactly, I used Sweet Snuggles Lite in the color “Daffodil” for the yellow, and Sweet Snuggles Lite in the color “Peach Pink” for the orange.
  • For best results, it’s preferred to use the yarn under method.
  • Please keep in mind that if you use yarn that is smaller than a weight 6, then your final project will be smaller than mine. If you use a thicker weight, the final project will be bigger than mine.
  • You can find a full video tutorial here on my YouTube channel if needed!
  • This project uses the magic ring. If you do not know how to make a magic ring or it troubles you, then you can always chain 3, slip stitch into the 1st chain, and then place the required number of stitches into the center of that circle instead.

Materials:

  • Weight 6 velvet yarn in yellow and in orange
  • 5 mm hook
  • (2) 10mm safety eyes
  • Stuffing
  • Stitch marker
  • Tapestry needle
  • Scissors

Abbreviations:

  • sc = Single Crochet
  • YO = Yarn Over
  • Sl st = Slip Stitch
  • FO = Fasten Off

Place eyes between R3-4 about 5 stitches apart, just above the arms. Stuff.

R9: dec x 9 (9) FO, leave tail and sew remaining hole closed. Hide tail.

Mouth

1. Using the orange color, insert tapestry needle into a random spot on the body and come up next to the eye with one stitch between.

2. Insert next to the other eye with one stitch between the eye and the needle.

3. Repeat this one more time for a total of two strings forming the mouth.

4. Re-insert hook to meet the first tail and tie them together. Hide the tails and cut excess.
